Dr. Mohammad Qatanani is the resident Scholar and Head Imam of the Islamic Center of Passaic County (ICPC) in New Jersey. Dr. Qatanani is the president and co-founder of Manara Institute for Islamic and Arabic Studies. He completed his studies in Islamic Legislation and Jurisprudence from the Jordanian University and received his Ph.D. in 1996. Dr. Qatanani specializes in Islamic Jurisprudence, Legislation & its fundamentals (Usul Al-Fiqh). Dr. Qatanani has also served as a professor in the Islamic American University, Montclair State University (NJ) and Graduate Theological Foundation.
Dr. Qatanani is a member of the Fiqh Council of North America and co-founder of the Tri-State Imams Council (NJ, NY, CT.) He currently serves as a member of the NJ Attorney General’s Muslim Outreach Committee. He has received the Award for “Ambassador for Peace” by The Interreligious and International Federation for World Peace. He is a member of several interfaith organizations and founder of the “Muslim-Christian Dialogue of NJ”.
Dr. Qatanani has completed numerous researches and studies, and published several books in the fields of Jurisprudence of Minorities, Outreach, Interfaith, Marriage, Family, Muslim Character and QuranicTajweed.
